Over 40% of Brazilian Children up to the age of
2 suffer from malnutrition.
55
Million Brazilians live on £48 or less per month, meaning
a third of the population live on less than £1 a
day.
The average income of 10% of the population is 32 times
higher than that of the poorest 40%!
1
in 27 children die before the age of 5 compared to one in
143 in the UK. In a country plagued by poverty,
violence
and social
exclusion, urban youth bear the brunt of hardship.
UNICEF estimates over 450,000 children are orphaned,
abandoned
or without contact
with their parents.
Ten years ago ABC
Trust was founded to help these poor
and hungry children. Now the lives of up to 1000 children
are improved every
week.
The aim of this project is to raise funds for the ABC
Trust.
The ABC
Trust has provided us with a licensed
recent photograph of Brian May by Jill Furmanovsky which
we have digitally divided
up into segments. Each segment has been given to twelve
of our Artists. Each Artist has painted their segment
in their
own style and returned it to us, which we digitally
put
each segment together to form the original picture,
resulting in the finest quality canvas prints, beautifully
framed. We will sell this limited run on this site.
A
signed limited edition will be auctioned off by Cooper
Owen Auctioneers
in April of 2006 (date to be announced.) All of the
profits
received on the sale of this print will be donated
to ABC Trust. This
project will expand to include exhibitions and promotions
to further sales of this limited edition run to provide
added
funding for the children of Brazil.
It is our intention that ABC
Trust receive all of
the profits from this project.
