I cannot remember a time when painting has not been an abiding influence in my life and feel; that at the easel, the painter is no slave, neither to the past, nor to the present, neither to nature or to his neighbour. I must say I find it extremely difficult to write about painting, and doubly so to write about my own work or my approach to it. I take it very seriously and have an almost dogmatic desire to paint work that is more than “Just another picture” I can only paint to please myself in a way that visually and technically makes my personal statement clear, without too many bumps and lumps in the paint to divert the eye.

As an artist trying to sell my work, I do want the world to love it all and buy, however, there is little I can do, especially in words, but present you with the images here on this website. I also have my own personal web pages: http:// www.artiffin.com I also have the good luck to appear with http:// www.surrealismnow.com Feel free to contact me at any time with any query: approval or criticism. Regards, Anthony Richard Tiffin

Anthony Richard Tiffin

Returning from Africa in 1973, where he worked for a number of years as an illustrator and designer. He opened his own gallery/ studio and as a professional artist tackled most subjects in all media. Recently: Anthony Richard Tiffin has devoted his time and his considerable technique to a very personal take on the world, sometimes naïve, sometimes sexual, never just another picture. His imagery is designed to feed first and foremost his own vision of the vagaries of life in its many forms. The works have sold worldwide including: America, Australia, Africa and many European countries. Anthony would like to avoid all categories and labels in defining his work, but much of what he creates is visual magic realism, but surrealism and to a degree, fantasy have all described his paintings.
