Light and shade play an important part in my work. I prefer urban scenes as opposed to traditional landscape. Whether in Italy Spain or Istanbul, I am interested in the everyday life of the place.

Ian graduated from Bournemouth College of Art having studied Technical Graphics. However, he soon realised that his true vocation was Fine Art. In the 1980‘s he earned his keep drawing portraits in London and Palermo. He moved to Germany in 1986 and began to paint full time. After 23 years on the Continent he moved back to Poole in Dorset at the beginning of 2008. His paintings hang in many private and public exhibitions worldwide.
