I am an originator; my images come from my own visions and imagination. I admire many of the Pre-Raphaelites and Victorian faerie painters who worked in a similar way; using traditional skills to picture that which cannot be photographed. If you asked me to define my purpose I would say – to illuminate the subtle realms, to share my vision.

Jack Shalatain is one of the leading visionary painters of our time; many respected artists have drawn inspiration from Shalatain’s work while his own concepts are fuelled by myth and legend. The ethereal qualities of Shalatain’s imagery evoke a dreamlike state of being, taking the viewer to a world where anything is possible and benevolence reigns.
