Oil on board or canvas

My influences are very diverse. They have been my imagination connected to such things as comic art, surrealism, celestial phenomena and real life. My art is not meticulously planned; it is just me putting what is inside me on to canvas. Sometimes I wonder who is inspiring me to do the art I do, whether it is God or some other higher power (I like to think that) or is it just my natural inclination.

Lee J Banham

I did a four-year apprenticeship at Sizewell nuclear power station, completing my apprenticeship in 1980; four years later I was diagnosed as having schizophrenia.
It was around this time that I started to do art again (having done it as a child).
I have had since then, admissions in to hospital but all the time doing art.
I have had exhibitions; one in London and have had a painting exhibited in Cork Street gallery in London.
I am a member of the Society for Art of Imagination.
