Martin Piercy is a full time painter working from his studio/gallery in Wickham, Hampshire. Having spent all of his life living near the sea, and his childhood in a house with a view of the great ocean going ships navigating Southampton Water, it is no surprise that much of his work is of the sea and boats - and he is well known on the south coast as “The Wave Man” because of his large surf paintings sold to many parts of the world.
But it would be wrong to think of Martin as just a painter of sea and boats, as he has had much success with his paintings of the Hampshire countryside and rivers - not to mention his interior work on the ceiling and walls of a large Hampshire house.
